Hi there Crafty Friends. It's time for a new challenge at CAS Mix UP. This month is a STENCIL themed challenge. Hilary is hosting and the prompt is 'GESSO'. So it's time to get a little a bit messy!
There are some links to video tutorials on the CAS MIX UP blog and an explanation from Hilary as to what she would like to see.
Please remember to keep your card designs Clean and Simple and include stencilling.
There wasn't much left in my Gesso bottle and it was quite thick. I used a scrap of cardstock to spread the Gesso over the stencil. When it was dry I spritzed the paper with water and sprinkled it with Nuvo Shimmer Powders.
I cleaned the Gesso with a slightly damp cloth. The panel was then die-cut and I assembled my card.
The stencil is from Kaisercraft and the dies are from Memory Box.
We have the talented Sue, from Cards by Q as our Guest Designer month.
I hope you will be inspired and join in the challenge!
A stunning card Jenny. The black cardstock makes the gorgeous central design pop off the front - lovely! x
ReplyDeleteJenny this is stunning - love that raspberry colour against the black, with the white die cut and stencilling it makes for an amazing card!

I love this die cut flower and it looks so pretty on the gesso stenciled background, Jenny! Beautifully framed too!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous CAS card, Jenny:-) I Love how your Gesso stenciled dots over your red geometric background. It really pops with your black geometric background. Your die cut white flower with the black center is the perfect accent:-) TFS my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty design Jenny! Your gesso stenciled background really shows well with the powdered inks smooshed over top. Love the dramatic colours with your black, red and white card. xx

ReplyDeleteLove how you used the die cut for your lovely Gesso and powdered inks background and finished off with the die cut flower on black card.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, love the colour and that amazing die cut ♥
ReplyDeleteThe effect of that stunning colour against the black backdrop is simply wonderful. The use of gesso simply lifts it to another level.
