Time Out Challenge #146 Inspired by Words

Hi there Crafty Friends. It's time for another challenge  at Time Out Challenges. This week we want you to be inspired by words ...

“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” ~Chinese Proverb

I started  this card months ago using patterned paper and dies. Then I couldn't decide how to finish it. In the end I decided to add the cute Hedgie and sentiment.
The tree/border die is from Paper Rose Studio and the stamps from My Favorite Things. The pp is from Kaisercraft.

This month we have Varada Sharma  as our generous sponsor, offering 2 x $15 store credits. The winner also has a chance  to be Guest Designer in a future challenge.

PENNY BLACK SATURDAY CHALLENGE REMINDER (AUG ‘23)

It's the 3rd Saturday of the month, so we have more inspiration for you at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The challenge this month is...

'Anything Goes'
or
'ONE LAYER CARD’

This was made with one of my newest purchases from Penny Black. I stamped the image with Delicata Gold Ink and coloured it with Derwent Inktense Watercolor Pencils and added some shading with Prismacolor Pencils. I felt Ishould have added more shading and colour, but I used Bristol Cardstock and didn’t want to overwork it.
Stamp: PB Gladness

To begin I made a colourful background with Brushos and Nuvo Shimmer Powder. Next I used a Simon Says Stamp Die 3 times to get the butterflies and border die-cuts. I added some colourful splatter, a couple of gems and a sentiment from Altenew.

This winner of our challenge will win a $25 credit from our generous sponsor - Lawnfawn and will also have the chance to be Guest Designer in a future challenge.

Altenew Metallic Paints

Yippee! Woohoo! I made a card!!! Yes I actually managed to finish a card today. I was inspired by the pretty bouquet of flowers in the Altenew Inspiration Challenge photo.

I used white ink and Ranger Vintage Pearl embossing powder. Then I coloured the images with Altenew Metallic Watercolor paints. The stamps are from Altenew Beauty Within and the sentiment was made with Altenew Sweet Sentiments Hotfoil Plates.

Magnolia Season

Hey Friends! I'm still struggling with my mojo, so today I'm sharing an old , but never before posted make,  to celebrate the emergence of Magnolias in our part of the world with the promise of Spring.

I used a beautiful stencil from Altenew and one of the old stamps. The paints are Altenew Artist Watercolors and the paper is Arches.
I considered adding a sentiment, but decided to leave it, so that the Magnolia is the focus.

I'm sharing at the following challenges:-

Here is a picture I took during my morning walk a few weeks ago...

Playing with Hotfoil and Die-cuts

Hi there Crafty Friends! I made a card! Yay! You haven't seen any recent makes from me for quite a while because my Mojo has been sadly missing! However this week I received some new products, including some gorgeous Hotfoil Plates from Altenew.

You probably can't see, but the card stock is a beautiful soft peach colour and is also shimmery. The foil colour is rose gold. It's very difficult to photograph, but you get the idea. I used Karin Markers direct to the stamp, spritzed and sprinkled a touch of Cosmic Shimmer Powder before stamping.

I chose these colours when I saw the photo at this month's Altenew Inspiration Challenge. Mindy is the host and check out the photo she chose...

I'm also sharing this card at :-

A couple of months ago I had 2 of my wonderful (crafty) friends to stay for a few days at our beach house and that was the last time I've managed to make a card until today.
Well I did manage to make a few that weekend, so here oner using gorgeous dies and Glimmer Hotfoil plates from Spellbinders.
The embossing folder was a 'must have' as soon as I saw it, because it reminds me of pressed metal, one of my loves!
I used a mix of shimmer and glitter card stock for the flowers.

Time Out Challenge #244 Monochromatic

Hi there Crafty Friends! It's time for another  Time Out Challenge. This week we want you to make a 'MONOCHROMATIC' card.

For the purposes of our challenge, this means using only shades of one colour with a possible addition or touch of neutrals (white, black, grey, brown). You could for example use all blues on a white card base... But stamp your sentiment on black on white card. We also allow a touch of metallics so heat embossing with a metallic powder/adding metallic gems will work too.

Using co-ordinating papers from a Design paper pad made it very easy to make a Monochromatic card with various shades and different patterns. I tore the paper in strips, layered them and die cut the panel. The pot plant was left uncoloured, which I quite like. I used a black matte to tie in with the stamped image.
The paper is from Kaisercraft and the stamp from Altenew.

The winner of our challenge will win a $15 credit from our generous sponsor -Varada Sharma and will also have the chance to be Guest Designer in a future challenge.

We have Stephanie Serrano of Stephanie's Stampin Spot, joining us as Guest Designer. You can see her amazing card and more inspiration from our fabulous DT at the TIME OUT CHALLENGES blog. I hope you have the opportunity to join in our challenge.
