CAS Butterfly

Hi there.  I've been lucky to have lots of time to create this week, due to ongoing renovations at home and so I'm staying at our beach house with the dogs.  I'm still suffering with bad asthma, but it's not stopping me from crafting:)

This card was made in record time, because I had the background stamped card and the butterfly in my unfinished stash. I decided they went well together and stamped the sentiment to complete the card.

Stamps: Altenew 'Halftone Circles'; Pretty Pink Posh 'Blissful Butterflies'; Clearly Besotted 'Fabulous Fuschias'.

Inks: Altenew

Forest Village

Another card to share...

I used a new to me die from Poppystamps, called 'Forest Village' and a sentiment stamp from Winnie & Walter.
I coloured the negative space with Zig Markers and 'Wink of Stellar' for shimmer, which hopefully you can see in the pic.

Here is a quick post to share a card using cute little hedgies, inspired by the theme at Less is More Challenge.

The stamps are from Craft Consortium 'Little Fawn and Friends'.  The rectangle die is from Cutplorations and I used Zig Markers, Memento Inks, Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens and Kuretake White Brush Pen for highlights.

Ornate Flowers

Hey! I wasn't going to share this, because I'm not very happy with the colours, but it did take a lot of time getting all the stamps lined up, so here goes...

I received this stamp set in a gift pack at the Altenew workshop in Melbourne. Anyone who knows me well, will know that I'm not in to fiddly! I prefer to watercolour and an abstract look. However, this set it extraordinary - so clever the way the designer has matched up all the 'bits'! I used various Altenew inks and added a few highlights with white India Ink.  The sentiment is from Altenew 'Halftone Circles'.

Hibiscus Watercolour

Hi there. I decided to make another summery card to beat the Winter blues. I'm fighting off a cold and feeling a bit sorry for myself.

I used Altenew 'Totally Tropical' again and the sentiment is from Altenew 'Enchanted Iris'.

Garden Twofer

I'm not sure where this month has gone! I just realised it's 24 July, so I pulled these 2 blooms out of my unfinished/ 'not too sure'  stash and turned them in to cards for the Twofer Card Challenge.

I've had the rose stamp for a long time - not sure what brand it is. It's very big and so I don't use it very often.

I stamped this one in black and coloured with Nuvo Shimmer Powder. I think I should go over some of the shadows with black finepoint, because the shimmer powder dulls the detail. The sentiment is from SSS.

I used Zig Markers and Distress Markers for this one.  The sentiment die is from Lawn Fawn.

Awaken

Hi there. I"m back to remind you about this month's Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The theme is, as always 'ANYTHING GOES' and the optional twist is 'FOOD'.

My card is just anything goes this time.

I've had this gorgeous stamp for a couple of years and I've only used it once before. I decided that blue and silver would make an elegant combination. I used Zig Markers and silver embossing powder.  The stamp is called 'Awaken' from Penny Black.

There's more inspiration over at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge and I hope you'll play along for the chance to win a $25 voucher from our wonderful sponsor 1-2-3 Stitch. You have until 02August to enter the challenge.

Foiled Butterflies

I have a box of Mixed Media and die cut butterflies, which I keep in the hope they'll make it to a card one day. So I was happy when I saw the theme at Mix it Up Challenge...

I stamped the 'art' background which is from Paper Artsy Eclectica (Sara Naummann) on Acrylic cardstock and heat embossed with Silver Pearl powder.
I stamped with an old collage stamp from Kaisercraft , called 'Cherish' on an inked background and I I used Sticky Embossing Powder and Deco Foil, passing it through my Minc. Next I  die-cut the butterflies with a Memory Box Die.

Love You to the Moon

Hey there. I just want to share a couple of cards I made a month ago.  The first card features a quote from one of my favourite poems and the second a quote from my favourite childrens' bedtime book.

The stamp set is from Kaisercraft called 'Stargazer'. I used Distress Inks for the wash.
I used Versamark and Gold Pearl-ex for the first card and a combination of Distress Ink and Delicata Gold, which was clear embossed for the second.

Happy Birthday Bonnie

Hi there. It's mid-month reminder time at CAS Watercolour Challenge and it also happens to be a milestone birthday for our very own uber talented Design Team member  Bonnie Klass. I hope your birthday is extra special Bonnie!!!

This stamp is from MFT and is called Fresh-cut Flowers Background. I stamped in black and clear embossed and then coloured with Zig Markers. I was inspired by beauty of the Just Joey Roses we have in our garden.

You still have until 24 July to play along, so head over to the CAS Watercolour to see more inspiration and add your card to the gallery.  We hope you'll join us in wishing Bonnie a very Happy and Special Birthday.

Pastel Magnolia

I've had this  watercolour sitting in my 'unfinished' stash for a long time. It has a bit of a blooper- can you see it?

I think this is a stunning stamp set and it always reminds me of the beautiful Magnolia tree in our neighbour's front garden.  So I touched up the shading, fussy cut and added some strategic bling😉

I stamped the magnolia on good quality watercolour paper, white embossed  and coloured with Zig Markers.  I decided to use grey for the sentiment to match the branch and keep the card soft.

Stamps: The Ton 'Magnificent Magnolias'; Altenew 'Label Love'
Paper: Arches Rough Watercolour Paper  300gsm

Life on the Ocean Waves

Just a quick post to share a card I made for the Simon Monday Challenge.
I stamped and silver embossed the waves on a piece of smooshed card found in my stash.
I coloured the Pelican with Zig Markers and silver Wink of Stellar.
The wave background stamp is from Hero Arts, the sentiment is from The Ton Stamps, the rectangle die from Stamplorations and I think the Pelican is from La La Land.
