Time Out Challenge #260 Striped

Welcome back Crafty Friends. It's time for a new Time Out Challenge and this week we want to see STRIPES on your card.

I thought it was about time I used my Hot oil goodies and this is what I made...

All supplies are from Spellbinders.  The butterflies were coloured by sponging with Distress Ink. I used Hot Press water-colour paper and Altenew paints for the die-cut flowers. To finish I added a bit of bling from Uniquely Creative.

This winner of our challenge will win a $25 credit from our generous sponsor - Lawn Fawn and will also have the chance to be Guest Designer in a future challenge.

Our incredibly talented Guest Designer this week is  Karen Rogers of kareN stampZ

Altenew Inspiration Challenge

 Hi there Crafty Friends,

It began by discovering that all  my old new 3D Floral dies had been mixed up in a box, so I spent an hour sorting them all out and then making this card…

I die-cut the flower from a smooshed background. I used Altenew Inks, Karin Markers an Nuvo Shimmer Powder. The dies are from Altenew Garden Picks and Rose Flurries.
An Altenew EF and Hotfoil Plate/Die were also used.

Time Out Challenge #259 - Special Collaboration Challenge with JUGS -Birds of a Feather

Welcome back Crafty Friends. It's time for a new Time Out Challenge and this week we are excited to be having a collaboration with JUST US GIRLS Challenge. The theme is 'BIRDS of a FEATHER'.

Over the last few weeks I've made lots of cards with birds and I had a difficult time deciding which one to share here, but since it's Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, where most of our DT are from, this is the card I decided on...

The stamps and die are freebies from a magazine I purchased years ago and I really love this cute bird. The teacup and bird were coloured with Copic Markers and gold paint and the flowers with Karin Markers.
I actually embossed the teacup on the white card to get the raised look.
I added a splatter of gold paint because I can't help myself:)

By entering the linky tool on our challenge blog you will automatically also join Just Us Girls Challenge, woot woot!

Your project will gain twice the visibility... You will double your chances to be chosen as a design team favorite and your project may be showcased in one of the challenge blogs. Whether you join from Time Out or from Just Us Girls, you have a chance to win $25.00 store credit to Waffle Flower Crafts

Our incredibly talented Guest Designer this week is Jolanda Johnson of The Inquespot Studio.

THE CARD CONCEPT #205 Spring has Sprung

Hello there Crafty Friends! It's time for another challenge at The Card concept The theme this month is

                                                                'SPRING HAS SPRUNG'

Well I'm sure you can see how I was inspired! The birds in the photo are so sweet, so I used the same colouring. I used a stamp from AALL & Create and some patterned paper to make a Paper Pieced card.
Some shading was added with Prismacolor pencils and the images were fussy cut by hand.
The Antique Frame die is from Penny Black.

I think my card would be considered a Clean and Layered Style, using the colours and the picture as my inspiration.

Remember, an inspiration photo is exactly that- a starting point for inspiration. Will it be the colours, the overall theme, the texture, the actual items and/or something else that will inspire your card?

I hope you'll visit The Card Concept Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the team has created and will be inspired to play along in the challenge with us.

Choose a design style (or combine styles), create a card, and in your blog post, let us know what inspired you from the photo, what style and/or styles you chose and don't forget to display our inspiration photo and link back to our challenge.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I love to read your comments:)

Lots of Green

 Hello Crafty Friends,

Here are some cards I made last weekend inspired by various challenges.

I used the colours from Color Hues for this card. This is the first time I've used the dies from Spellbinders (designed by Simon Hurley) and I'm in love with them!

I used a mix of green Design Papers to make this masculine Christmas card using the large Gnome die from SSS.

I painted the water-coloured bamboo using  Distress Inks.
Then I stamped the cute Panda and Sentiment using The Ton Stamps Panda Can't Even.
To finish I die-cut the frame from shimmer purple card-stock.

I'm sharing my cards at the following challenges:-

Vase Card

Gnome Card

Panda Card

Another Few Cards to Share

 Hi there Crafty Friends,

It's a hot weekend (39 celcius!) here and I've got the air conditioning pumping out to cold air so that I can craft in comfort!

My first card is for The Flower Challenge - they want us to make a Square Card...

I used the gorgeous Altenew Arch of Flowers set, which includes a Stamp, Stencil and Die. The background is made with the Altenew Organic Linen Embossing Folder.

I'm also sharing at:

I stamped the background with Penny Black Stamps and the cute bunnies are from Hello Bluebird.

This card is inspired by the 'Yellow' theme at Allsorts Challenge:-
This beautiful Cling stamp from Penny Black is called Golden.
I stamped the image with gold ink and embossed with a sparkly gold powder.
I used mostly Karin Markers for the colouring.

CASE-ing Elizabeth

Hi there Crafty Friends. Today I'm sharing a card for Just Us Girls Challenge where it's 'CASE a Design Team Member Week'. I chose to CASE Elizabeth's beautiful card.

CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything - but it's not about just copying a card. It's about getting inspiration from cardmaking friends and making a new card with our own twist.

I used die-cuts from Alexander Renke, coloured with Distress ink instead of stamping as Elizabeth did. I loved the embossed background on Elizabeth's card and it reminded me of this stunning Embossing Folder from Spellbinders.  For the sentiment I used an Altenew Hotfoil Plate and Die.

Elizabeth's card ......

The die-cuts and sentiment were already in my UFO stash, so I'm also entering the Snippets Playground Challenge #475
die-cuts/sentiment were my snippets

and SSS have an Anything Goes Challenge, so I'm sending it there

Our theme this month is 'ANYTHING GOES or the optional twist 'EASTER'.

Once a year, at Easter, this Bunny stamp gets a showing, because it's the only PB one I own:)
So I try to change it up a bitt and this time I used PB Spring Blossoms to add some Spring cheer.
I coloured the image with Prismacolor Pencils.
