The stencil is very basic, from a discount shop and so I hadn't used it before, but when I outlined the the stencilled images with a Copic Sepia fine marker it really made a difference! I actually did this freehand, without the stencil. I used Worn Lipstick Distress Ink with a blending brush and a yellow glitter pen for the stamen. The sentiment is from Penny Black.
I'm sharing at the following:-
You've made your discount shop stencil look very classy Jenny! I love the colours - pink and yellow is my favourite combo to wear at the moment! - and your freehand outlining on the flowers really brings them to life. Vicky x

A lovely card Jenny - the cheaper stencil certainly worked very well and came alive with the outlining.. it's a great technique. You Vic's have been send that chilly weather up here this week, below 10 overnight here in Townsville but cool and sunny for days... we're enjoying it, hugs and stay very safe down there, Robyn
ReplyDeleteThanks Robyn. I love cold nights, but during the day I freeze. I'm sitting in my craft room with 4 layers on & still shivering. It's the opposite at our beach house, but I can't be there for another few weeks at least:(
DeleteOh Jenny what a beautiful card - the outlining certain added definition and class to your flowers, and they have a real promise of spring! I am so looking forward to spring and the end of our dreary grey and wet weather.
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings

Your card is so feminine and pretty Jenny. The freehand sepia pen around the stencil sure does make a difference and it looks absolutely fabulous x. It's cold and showery here in Scotland and it's Summer ! xxxx
ReplyDeleteThese pink flowers are so pretty, Jenny, and the outlining adds to their beauty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card with such gorgeous colours! The outlining looks fabulous. Take care and stay safe. xxx
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Jenny! LOVE this stencil, the flowers are so pretty, especially in pink! :) The freehand outlining adds so much to the design. Great work! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny, a superb card love the outlined stencilled flowers, I hope you and yours are safe and have all the supplies for the new lockdown rules Victorians are facing this week... Have a wonderful week.. Megan
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card, Jenny! I love the whole idea of outlining stencils now that I've seen it and used it myself. Sometimes it's hard to get even a fine tip around the stencil, and you did a steady job of outlining it freehand. I love the soft blending, followed by distinct blending all around the edges, which adds so much! Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
