CAS Colours & Sketches #426

It's the fifth Tuesday of March, and that means it's a Double Challenge!  We're throwing back with a trio of retired Stampin' Up colors and one of our past sketch challenges, combining them into one color and sketch challenge.  Shannon is our Host and has given us a wonderful double!

I made a smooshed background and die-cut the largest panel and the butterfly. Next I  sponged the pink on the edges of the smaller panel and stamped the sentiment.  I used Karin Markers to colour the flowers. To finish I added the bow and some bling.

Stamp: CASual Friday Wonderful Words
Dies: Tim Holtz Wildflower Stems * (I think); PB Antique Frame & Butterfly
* I'm not very organised, I've  thrown all my flower dies  together,
so they could be Alexandra Renke😩

I hope you'll check out the CC&S blog to see what the rest of the design team and our  Guest Designer have created.  We hope you'll be inspired to make your own card, which needs to be linked to  the challenge post by 6:00 p.m. Eastern time Monday.

52 CHRISTMAS CARD THROWDOWN (JUN TECHNIQUE)

It's the last 52 CCT challenge for June and our host Tracy wants us to play Tic, Tac, Toe.

I haven't done a Vintage style card for a while, so I raided my old Kaisercraft stash to make this card...

I die-cut the spotty panel and used my trimmer for the postcard panel, inking the edges of both with gold ink.  I adhered the postcard at an angle and then mounted on the base card. I stamped the 'Dec 25'.
The poinsettia's are die-cuts that come with the patterned paper. I layered these with some dimension and overlapping the pp pieces. The sentiment is made from a die.
Paper: Kaisercraft Christmas Carol
Die: Penny Black Christmas Sentiments, Rectangle Frame
Stamp: Kaisetrcraft ( an oldie)

If you are unfamiliar with this type of challenge it is quite simple. From the grid below you choose a line of elements to incorporate into your card making.
I chose the middle horizontal line - Gems, Patterned Paper, Die-cut

I hope you'll visit the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog to see what the rest of the team created with these colours and then be inspired to join in the challenge!

Bold Blooms & CAS Slimline

I have some more floral cards to share.

I had lots of fun colouring this gorgeous image from SSS with Karin and Zig Markers.
NB: you have to be careful with the Karin Markers because it is slow drying and easily smudged.
I'm sharing at the following challenges:-

I used the beautiful Stampin Up Peony Garden stamp and again used Karin and Zig Markers to stamp and blend.

Unicorn Birthday

I found this Unicorn in my stamped images stash from an old Retreat and knew it would suit the themes for these challenges.

I believe the Unicorn stamp is from Stamping Bella and the sentiment from Altenew.

CAS Colours & Sketches #425

It's time for a Sketch Challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. Shanon has created a fun CAS sketch for us.

I just happened to have this Flora & Fauna stamp set on my desk, so I knew at once what I would make.

I mase the white panel with a Penny Black Die, but made it longer by partially die cutting.
I stamped and coloured the images with Altenew Inks and Karin Markers.
Stamps: Flora & Fauna Fa La Lama
Die: Penny Black Antique Frame; SSS Sentiment

I hope you'll check out the CC&S blog to see what the rest of the design team and our  Guest Designer have created.  We hope you'll be inspired to make your own card, which needs to be linked to  the challenge post by 6:00 p.m. Eastern time Monday.

Wreath of Roses

Just a quick post to share a card inspired by the Altenew June Inspiration  Challenge.

I coloured the die-cut wreath with Altenew Metallic Paints. The white panel was embossed with the same die and coloured with Zig Markers and Nuvo Glimmer Pen. To finish I stamped the sentiment and added the sequins, mounted on a kraft card base.

Saturday, 19 June 2021

It's the 3rd Saturday of the month, so we have more inspiration for you at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The theme is 'ANYTHING GOES' or the optional twist is 'Fussy & Fancy' Cards.

I just received some new Penny Black Stamps, so I was excited to use them. This card is still fairly CAS, but I made it a bit more 'fussy' by adding the embossed background.

I stamped the image with black ink, clear embossed, coloured with Zigs and Karin Markers.  Next I fussy cut, deconstructed the yellow flowers  and re-arranged to fit my card.
Stamps: Penny Black Sweet Centrepiece
Embossing Folder: Altenew

52 Christmas Card Throwdown (June Theme )

Hi there Crafty Friends. It's time for the 3rd challenge of June for 52CCT with Tracy as our host.  She wants to see Gnomes on our  Christmas cards. This always makes me happy:)

I pulled out my fave SSS Gnome die for the occasion. I chose some glittery papers to give it a festive feel!

First of all I made the background using an embossing folder and Distress Oxide ink. Then I die-cut the tree frame and mounted on the background with dimension tape  and then on the black card base.
My next step was to die-cut the gnome and also the birds.
The sentiment was stamped with white ink and white embossed on black card.
I strategically placed the birds and sequins.
I hope you believe:)
Dies: SSS Large Gnome; Hello Bluebird Winter Woods Overlay; IOS birds
Embossing Folder: Stampin Up
Stamp: Memory Box Typewriter Holiday Elements

CASE the Designer

Hi there. I'm playing at the Global Design Project with a 'CASE' of Emma Goddard's card.

I added a border to my card, but instead of a rainbow, I chose to make it a Monet inspired watercolour. I then stamped my images in black, but couldn't resist highlighting with a touch of colour.  I included a dragonfly, to echo Emma's butterflies and twine.

I made the watercolour border with Distress Oxide, Distress Ink and Cosmic Shimmer Powder.
Stamps: Stampin Up Dragonfly Garden

I masked off a border on the watercolor paper and then painted a wash with Distress Oxides.
