Altenew Challenge January 2024 (2nd card)

Hi there Crafty Fiends. Just popping in to share my second make for this month's Altenew Inspiration Challenge.

I think I've found a new favourite  Embossing Folder - Altenew Vintage Tile! It pairs so well with the Altenew Blossom and Bloom Stamp Set, don't you think. I do love love this colour combo.

Altenew Challenge January '24

Hi there Crafty Friends. I've been busy making DT cards, but I've also made a few cards inspired by the beautiful photo Aga has chosen for the Altenew January Challenge

Here is one of them...

I used a stencil to make a watercolour monoprint background.
Then I loosely coloured the gorgeous blooms and die-cut the image.
To finish I added the die-cut sentiment and a splatter of gold ink and seqins.
Stamp: Altenew Sparkle Bright
Dies: Sparkle Bright; Sweet Sentiments

Penny Black Saturday Challenge January '24 Reminder

It's the 3rd Saturday of the month, so we have more inspiration for you at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The challenge this month is...

'Anything Goes'
or
'SOMETHING NEW'

I haven't used a new stamp this time, although it's only the 2nd time I've used it.

This is a big stamp, so I had to crop the image to fit a standard card. I used Prismacolor Pencils.

You can see more inspiration from  our talented  GDT  and the rest of the team at
our blog. I hope you have the opportunity to join in our challenge.

The prize for this challenge is provided by our generous sponsor:

TIME OUT CHALLENGE #255 INSPIRED BY WORDS

Hi there Crafty Friends. It's time for another challenge  at Time Out Challenges. This week we want you to be inspired by words ... “Winter solitude- in a world of one colour the sound of the wind.” (― Matsuo Basho  haiku poetry)

I chose the words 'Winter Solitude' - I hope my card reflects this...

This atmospheric stamp is from Penny Black stamps. I used a sentiment and the fox from Stampin Up.

THE CARD CONCEPT #203 NEW YEAR LOVE

Hello Crafty Friends! Welcome to a Wonderful New Year of challenges at The Card Concept

We have a beautiful photo, with lots of pretty elements, to spark your creativity.

I zeroed in on the striped heart in the bottom right...

I used dies from Pretty Pink Posh and some watercolours to create my Clean & Layered card.
The sentiment is from Altenew.

Remember, an inspiration photo is exactly that- a starting point for inspiration. Will it be the colours, the overall theme, the texture, the actual items and/or something else that will inspire your card?

I hope you'll visit The Card Concept Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the team has created and will be inspired to play along in the challenge with us.

Choose a design style (or combine styles), create a card, and in your blog post, let us know what inspired you from the photo, what style and/or styles you chose and don't forget to display our inspiration photo and link back to our challenge.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I love to read your comments:)

Normally I colour Penny Black floral stamps with Watercolour, but for a change I used Copic Markers.
Stamp: Penny Black Hollyhock Heaven
Die: PB Frame

Sharing some oldies

 Hi there Crafty Friends!

I'm very slow with my creating at the moment and there's a lot of quality control happening. My waste paper basket is full of rejects! I've mainly been playing with PB Cling stamps and I want the results to be perfect - but I think I need to let that go!  Sometimes I find things I've thrown away and decide I really like it! Does this happen to you?

I also have a big folder of finished, but never shared stuff, so as it's a new year, I think it's time to whittle that down and share some. So here are a few.

I noticed on Loll's blog that the the GROUP of SEVEN Card-makers are playing with TORN EDGES, so it's the perfect time to share this card.
I used some of my coveted patterned paper and Pretty Pink Posh stamps to create a colourful scene.

Here is another way to create the look of a TORN EDGE - using a mask a sponging ink and stamping to create a Faux torn edge.

I used an Old Hero Arts stamp and a New Embossing Powder.
Stamp: Hero Arts Rose
Edging stamp from Kaisercraft

I'm sharing this at the following:-

I made this card during a class with Online Card Classes.
I stamped and gold embossed the an old fave Hero Arts background stamp and sponged some inks.
Then I cut the panel in to strips and randomly arranged them.
It's a fun technique and was new to me.
Stamp: Hero Arts Eucalyptus Cling Background
Pinkfresh Studio sentiment

TIME OUT CHALLENGE #254 'New'

 Hi there Crafty Friends!

It's been a year since I joined the Time Out DT and what a wonderful year I've had!

We have so many talented, friendly and supportive people on the team and now we have 2 more wonderful and Creatives joining us. Welcome Helen and Greta!

We will however miss Elizabeth, but hope to see her cards in the gallery:)

So it is time for the first challenge for 2024 and the theme is 'NEW'.

I was unwell for the last couple of months of the year and didn't manage to send any Christmas cards, so I'm hoping to send out some New Year or 'Just Because' cards to make up for this.

I used products from quite a few companies in the making of this card.
Frame die: Mama Elephant
Embossing Folder: Stampin Up
Stamps & Co-ordinating Dies: The Greetery
Hotfoil & Die: Pinkfresh Studio
I'm quite happy with this fresh looking card - just right for a New Year!

Our generous sponsor is:-
prize: store credit $25

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024

I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season and can now relax and and enjoy a Crafty New Year.

I got inky with Distress Oxide Inks to make this background.
The stamps are mostly from Sugar Pea Design.

Sadly I didn't toast the New Year with Champagne, instead I sipped some Herbal Tea as I'm taking strong medication, so I've been abstaining for the last 6 weeks. I'll definitely be celebrating with bubbles when I
finish the medication 🍾.
