TIME OUT CHALLENGE #237 Fashionable

Welcome back Crafty Friends. It's time for a new Time Out Challenge. This week we challenge you to be FASHIONABLE!

I used some wonderful stamps from The Ton Stamps and Kaiserkraft Designer Paper to create my 'Fashionable' card. I did a bit of Paper-piecing with the books to add more definition and inked the edges of all the paper.
The white paper has a lace embossed pattern which adds even more glamour!

This winner of our challenge will win a $20 credit from our generous sponsor - AALL Creates and will also have the chance to be Guest Designer in a future challenge.

You can see more inspiration from our  fabulous DT at the TIME OUT CHALLENGES blog.
I hope you have the opportunity to join in our challenge.

THE CARD CONCEPT #194 Spring Banquet

It's time for another challenge at The Card concept. The theme is Spring Banquet and I'm sure the beautiful  photo will spark your creativity, or if not, you can make a card using the colours or just whatever the theme means  to you.

As you can see, I was inspired by the picture and the colours to make a fairly CAS Mixed Media Card.

I masked off the edges and the centre strip of a white panel and stamped background in white ink and when dry, I sponged the coloured ink.  Then I stamped the nest and sentiment.
From memory, I think the background stamp is from Prima, but it is in my mixed media box at my other house. (I must remember to record the detail when I make cards!!!).
The nest stamp is from Wplus9 and the sentiment from Hero Arts.
The dies are oldies from a Papertrey Ink kit.

Remember, an inspiration photo is exactly that- a starting point for inspiration. Will it be the colours, the overall theme, the texture, the actual items and/or something else that will inspire your card?

I hope you'll visit The Card Concept Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the team has created and will be inspired to play along in the challenge with us.

Choose a design style (or combine styles), create a card, and in your blog post, let us know what inspired you from the photo, what style and/or styles you chose and don't forget to display our inspiration photo and link back to our challenge.

Watercolour Flower Background

Hi there Crafty Friends! I'm sharing another card for The Flower Challenge, which is all about background stamping. I used a Penny Black Cling Stamp again.

I used a mix of Distress Ink and Distress Markers and lots of water to stamp and blend. When dry, I die-cut the background and inked the edges. I added some splatter with yummy Windsor Newton Gold ink.
To finish, I stamped the sentiment and matted the panel with Aubergine coloured card and and a white card base.
Stamps: Penny Black At Grace; Clearly Besotted Simply Quilled

Spots & Stripes

Hi there Crafty Fiends! I've just returned from a fun weekend away with a 'When I'm 64' party which was lot's of fun, so I haven't been crafting, but here is an oldie which fits the bill for the theme at Inkspirational Challenge

This is an Artsy take on the theme. I used a stencil for the stripes, but with the monoprint method using Karin Markers and spritzing with water. Then I stamped the flower and fussy-cut. I painted a swatch of wash on the white card and then subtly stamped some tiny spots, a leaf and some script. When dry I stamped the sentiment and black outline leaves.
The Flower stamp is from Gina K and I think the sentiment is from Altenew.

I'm also sharing at...

Altenew Water-colouring Book

Hi there Crafty Friends! I was very lucky to win an Altenew Watercoloring Book last year and I've been enjoying playing with it when I don't feel like stamping or thinking about card design, but simply colouring.

I used Altenew Artist Watercolor paints.

I was very inspired by Joy's beautiful photo of a red rose, so I'm sharing my card over at the Altenew Inspiration Challenge.

Playing with Stencils

Hi there Crafty Friends. Last week while wascat our Beach House I was feeling very relaxed and inspired and made lots of cards. These are some of the cards I made using Stencils.

I used Altenew Hill Blossom Stencil & Die set and Altenew One-Go Birthday Greetings for this CAS card. I didn't even add a splatter!

Here is another card using the same supplies plus Altenew Versatile Vases.

I used yellow glitter pen for the stamen and it looks great IRL, but doesn't show up too well in the photo. The colours were inspired by CAS Colours & Sketches, but sadly I missed the deadline.

Next up are a couple of cards using Altenew Blooming Flower Bed Stencil Set (3 in 1) and Altenew One-Go Birthday Greetings.

I also used a new to me die - Altenew Fancy Enjoy  and on the second card I added some texture with the Altenew Organic Linen Embossing Folder. The arch die is from The Greetery.

My last card uses a Stamplorations stencil and then I stamped over that with  Kaisercraft Background Script and Delicata Gold Ink.
The Rectangle die is from The Greetery and the sentiment die is from Spellbinders.

I'm sharing my 3rd card at the following challenges:-

So what do you think? I hope you can see how versatile Stencils can be and that I may have inspired you.
