CAS COLOURS & SKETCHES #440

Hi there Crafty Friends. It's time for a new challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches and Vicky is hosting this month. She's created a colour combo that I think is gorgeous - I hope you agree and will play along with us.

The colours made me think of Christmas and I'd just acquired a new Penny Black stamp set I thought would be perfect for this challenge...

I'm no expert at colouring, but I love trying out different mediums. I very rarely use colour pencils, but recently decided to make them more accessible, by taking them out of the tin and putting them on top of my trolley in a glass vase.  So now I use them more often and that's what I used on this card.
I stamped the deer on scrap paper, coloured with Prismacolor pencils, blending with Gamsol, then fussy-cut, leaving off the antlers. Then I stamped again and adhered with dimensional tape. I went over parts of the deer with Nuvo Glitter Gloss pen for some shimmer and added some rhinestones.

Stamps: Penny Black My Deer.

I'm also sharing my card at the following challenges:-

For my Husband

I would love for you to visit our blog to see what the rest of the team have created and will feel inspired to join us in the challenge.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I love to read your comments:)

  3. Fabulous i-dear(!) to make your pencils more visible and therefore more likely to be used. Love the card you've made with the colours and sketch.

  5. This is such a cute Christmas card and loving the image with that sentiment! Your coloring is fantastic. I too have taken all my colored pencils out of the tin and they are just on my desk in jars sorted by colors. So much easier to use when they are right there in front of me!
Thanks so much for sharing at Allsorts challenge!

  11. What a great image Jenny and beautifully coloured - a great advert for pencils, which are often neglected in my craft space too.
