Just Having Some Fun

I raided my backgrounds box again today and decided this Alcohol Ink background needed to be turned in to a card!

I die cut the flower, covered with glue and then rubbed over this with foil. I quite liked the imperfect look.
I'm sorry I don't remember the brand for this die.
Stamp: Mama Elephant sentiment.

I'm sharing at the following:-

For my next card, I used the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch, but flipped it horizontally.

Stamps: Tim Holtz Flower Jar; Penny Black Stamps Banner Sentiments.
Die: Tim Holtz Flower Jar
I stamped a bit of music script on the paper. it is shimmery silver IRL, but looks grey in the pic.

Seize the Birthday 200th Challenge

Wow what a fabulous milestone! Seize the Birthday are celebrating their 200th Challenge. I've just recently started playing in the challenge regularly and I'm really loving it!

The brief is to create a card inspired by the challenge graphic. I was inspired by the watercolour background and colours.

This is a shaker card, as you'll see below, but the colours show up better when I stand the card up.

I created the watercolour with various shades of Cosmic & Nuvo Shimmer Powders.
The bunny was coloured with Copics.
Stamps:Penny Black Lovable; Newton's Nook Cocktail Party
Dies: Penny Black Heart Balloons; SSS sentiment

You should pop along to their blog and join in the party. There's a Blog Hop and prizes to be won.

Guesting at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown

I'm so excited to be Guest Designer again at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.  This week is a technique challenge.

I stamped the Polar Bears with Momento Black Ink and coloured with Copic Markers.
Stamp: Penny Black Nose to Nose
Die: Penny Black Happy Holidays
Stencil: Kaisercraft; Altenew Halftone Dots

This is how I made the background...
  • Sponged Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass on to white card-stock.
  • Stencilled some snowflakes & stars with the same ink.
  • Stencilled some snowflakes and stars with DO Broken China and embossed with Speckled Egg Distress Embossing Glaze.
  • Stencilled some more with Broken China, but didn't emboss.
  • Stamped some script randomly with Broken China.
  • Stencilled some dots with BC.
  • Sponged ink around the edge of card and spritzed.
  • When dry splattered some watered down White Gouache.

I hope you'll pop over to the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog to see what the Design Team have created and will be inspired to take your fave stencils and join in the fun.  There are some video links over at the blog to give you some ideas.

Nancy's Birthday

Hi there. Today Loll Thompson (Stamping with Loll) is hosting a Linky Party for our lovely friend Nancy (Scandinancy Creates), who is celebrating her 75th Birthday!  I'm on a DT with Nancy and She is so kind, encouraging and creative! Happy Birthday Nancy! I hope you have the most wonderful day!

I have already sent Nancy a card, but I can't remember which one, so I've made a new one to share:)

I used lots of Cosmic Shimmer Powder to great the background. The die is from Papertrey Ink and the sentiment from Penny Black.

You can see the rest of the cards created for Nancy and join in the party here.

Mixed Media Stars, Ornate Foliage & Puppy Love

I had a shuffle through my box of experimental background and decided to turn this one in to a card.

I sponged various colours of Distress Oxides on white card, leaving it lighter in the centre. I then stencilled Distress Crackle Texture Paste. When dry, I sponged more ink over the paste.
I stamped the stars with black ink and embossed with silver embossing powder. TThey were coloured with Zig Markers.
I stamped the sentiment with Versamark, swiping it on the edges a well and embossed with silver EP.

Stamps: MFT Stars Above
Stencil: Stars

Robot Mixed Media

Hi there. I noticed the theme at Simon Monday Challenge  is STEAMPUNK and thought I'd give it a try. It started out ok, but I just couldn't find enough products to pull it off. Anyway, this is my attempt.

I began by smooshing a piece of kraft card-stock on the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Crackling Campfire. I then used the same ink to stencil the 'Short Circuit' background.  When dry I stamped the gears and other elements. The robot was stamped on a piece of  distressed grey designer paper. I fussy cut the image and inked the edges with Black Soot DO.  I coloured the eyes with Zig Violet marker and added glossy accents on top. The panel was sponged with DO Seeded Grapes & Black Soot.

Stamps: Visible Image Robot Data, Creative Chaos; Deep Red Cogs & Gears
Stencil: Visible Image Short Circuit

I'm sharing at the following:-

Twofer Trees

I've been making lots of cards with trees of late and these two are for the Twofer Card Challenge.

I stamped the image on Acrylic Card-stock. I masked off the moon and when dry, painted the background with a mix of Distress Oxide Inks. The mask was removed and a light highlight painted around the edge of the moon.
Stamp: Penny Black Peaceful Moment
Die: SSS

This time I stamped the image with Zig Markers on to Bristol Paper.  I used a very old stamp
to add the foliage and sponged in the sky and grass.
Stamp: Penny Black Peaceful Moment; Fern Gully Stamps Leaves
Die: SSS
Here is a bonus card...

This is a one layer card. I stamped the main image and the Christmas tree, then sponged the mountains, winter sky and splattered 'snow' with white Gouache.  The sentiment is an old wood mount stamp.
Stamps:Penny Black Peaceful Moment, Prancers

Guest Designing for Color Throwdown

I'm thrilled to be Guest Designing for Color Throwdown again and the colours are very pretty.

I used a die that was gifted to me, which is very sweet.  Firstly I embossed with die and coloured the trunk and leaves with Copic Markers. Next I brushed a thin layer of Nuvo Crystal Glaze over this for a bit of shine. I covered this with negative of a second die cut.  The fox was stamped and coloured with Zig Markers.

Stamp: Stamplorations Woodland Friends
Dies: Tree unknown, Sentiment SSS

I hope you'll visit the Color Throwdown blog to See what the Design Team have created and maybe be inspired to join in the challenge.

Watercolour Sunday

Another week in lockdown comes to an end. It was very warm today. I use an upstairs room when I craft and it's starting to get a bit uncomfortable, so I might not be making as many cards I have been.

Today I made another card for The Flower Challenge. I had several attempts with Prismacolor Pencils, but I wasn''t happy, so I reverted to what I know best.

I stamped the image with Versafine Clair Ink on Baohong Watercolour Paper and coloured with Daniel Smith Watercolours and Zig Markers.
Stamp: Concord & 9th Hello Lovely
I decided to leave it without a sentiment as I've been asked to make some blank cards.
